VHS Tape Cleaning & Minor Tape Repair
Let's make it clear...
For tapes with fungus or mold buildup, or which have general difficulty playing clearly, a cleaning may be necessary. There is a layer of the tape which is known to absorb moisture and can produce condensation, which promotes fungus growth. Playing a tape in this condition can even damage the playback heads in a VCR. If the growth hasn’t physically damaged the tape, this cleaning process could help to regain clear playback. Using the utmost care, this process cleans the inside of the cassette, and both sides of the tape ribbon itself and the reels.
Cost: $8 per tape
There's no charge for tapes found to be beyond repair.
Available only for Standard and Compact VHS & SVHS tapes at this time.
